Bad Paintings will be releasing the new Babies single “My Name / The War” on Record Store Day, 21st April 2012, worldwide on 7”, Cassette and Digitally (23rd April).

There are only 500 of the limited edition 7” single and 50 cassettes.

Music: The Babies, a four piece rock and blues band based out of Williamsburg, just finished up a tour in Europe and are getting ready to get on the road again for a set of dates at the end of the month. Whitney Summer caught up with The Babies (Kevin Morby, Cassie Ramone, Justin Sullivan, Brian Schleyer) in their apartment, where they shot several photos for their upcoming year.

Bossy - “Staring Contest”
I downloaded this album on a whim. That turned out to be a really good decision. Bossy was only around for about a year before Vivian Girls got together. It was Cassie Ramone, Justin Sullivan (who is now in The Babies) and Jamie Ewing (from Bent Outta Shape who passed away a few years ago). This is from “The Best of Bossy” which was released in 2009 on the Vivian Girls’ label Wild World. It’s an excellent pop punk record and it even has a fantastic Neil Young cover. I plan to buy it on vinyl as soon as I’m not completely broke. It’s all I’ve been listening to for the past 4 days.
